Current story's progress: January 2009 01/03 - DONE! I finished the first draft. YEA!! Still have to redo my synopsis since I changed the story and, of course, edits. Talk about last minute work. I'm really scrambling here, but I'm happily relieved. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 01/02 - Been busy with friends celebrating the holidays! Way too much fun, too. I need to buckle down on the story because I haven't written a fresh word in two solid weeks. Problem is we're going out of the country very soon for another two weeks. EEK! Wish me luck. Oh, and we have a new January honey under Pix of the Month over there labeled Whew! because I couldn't think of anything better. December 2008 12/25 - MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE! 12/20 - This is how I pretty much look now. ![]() 12/11 - Sluggish. Terrible word when you're trying to write, but that's how my days are going lately. I've done a lot of rewrites. Still no progression in the story. I'm at a critical part and, for some reason, I'm unable to go forward. Don't know if the last scene was written incorrectly or if it's the wrong scene or whether I'm feeling the holiday blues. So, to get something accomplished, I made a few changes to my website. I'm liking it more. Check out the bookshelf page, etc. I think it's more navigational now. Sigh. I don't know about you, but I haven't done any Xmas shopping or sent out cards. Guess I'd better get my butt in gear, huh? Is anyone else having the same problem, getting in gear for the holidays? 12/04 - Can you believe it? The holiday season is in full swing! To kick it off, I've uploaded a Christmas photo for your enjoyment. You know, having Christmas sneak up has helped with my current story. The setting takes place in Arizona and Colorado, hot and cold (which is how emotions fluctuate between my hero and heroine), and the time period begins Thanksgiving and lasts through Christmas. On the other hand, just because the holidays are typically happy times, they're not always perfect. *evil grin* I've upped the conflict level and it's coming to a head Christmas Eve. November 2008 11/27 - HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE! 11/24 - Who's afraid of a dead snake? Check my blog at Delta's Rainbow Of Chatter to see this monster. Obviously I'm having trouble with the current story. Maybe I should add a snake to the plot! 11/24 - Ooh, these characters are talking too much shit! I can't stand it. Another worm got loose, got the damn nerve to demand a spot in my story. Nothing like dropping a bomb to mess things up. Should I listen to them? Of course, I will. Manuscript length will definitely increase. Look at the meter. The horror of rewriting is now in my face. That's what happens to pantsters. I think I need to take a class on plotting. 11/21 - Should've kept my mouth shut and forgot the deadline. I opened up a can or two of worms that need to be sealed. I'm thinking the added material might boost the manuscript up to 80k, maybe more. I'm working on it. We'll see what happens. 11/18 - Got a pub date for Cuffed Heat and the cop anthology. August 2009, MEN IN BLUE--featuring Devyn Quinn, Myla Jackson and Delta Dupree. Woo-Hoo! 11/17 - I'm back running at about 80%. Man, why does the flu knock a person down so hard? Had me flat on my back for days. Anyway... I haven't gotten a whole lot done on the story. I've revised the first chapter about 15 damn times. Why is the first chapter so difficult to get right? At the moment I'm happy with the changes. Who knows how I'll feel about it tomorrow. I'm also working on a new mid-chapter that I needed to add. It's going well as you can see on the progress meter. Guess I'd better set myself a deadline to finish. I'm thinking Friday, Nov 21. I'm off to the races. Later. 11/15 - Went out of town. Got the flu while out of town. Ick. Came home early and still nursing myself back to decent health. More later... 11/04 - I'm blogging at Five Scribes tomorrow, Wed, Nov 5. Title of the commentary: Don't Box Me In: Politically Correct & Stereotyped. Stop by and join the discussion! 11/03 - 10 minutes later. Found! Now this is finger lickin' good. 11/02 - Moving right along with the current manuscript. I've had to do a lot rewriting, go deeper into my characters' point of view (POV) and add conflict. Lots of fun stuff going on. 11/01 - Hot damn!! Strip is now in bookstores. I'm seriously doing the cabbage patch. October 2008 10/31 - BOO! I see you. 10/28 - I'm dancing on the ceiling! STRIP went on sale at Amazon today! Woo-Hoo! It hits bookstores Nov 1. 10/24 - I almost forgot! Check out the new profiles and excerpt from Cuffed Heat. 10/23 - It's almost 10pm. I was determined to get this site running well tonight. So what do you think about the new look? Check it out. All the pages are new--need tweaking here and there. The best ones (I think) are on the excerpt pages. Click on the bookshelf. Then, drop me a line and let me know if it's up to snuff. I just love this shade of green. The whole project has been killing me trying to make changes. I'm pretty damn satisfied with myself. Still need to add a couple things, like the press kit and contest page. Oh, yeah, I'm gonna have a contest very soon. It might end up being on this page if I can't get a new one together. For now, I can get back to writing! OOh! I'm still diggin' on the Halloween buns. Ciao. 10/16 - Check out that Halloween pumpkin on the right. Mercy! 10/14 - The Negotiator title wasn't working. But I got confirmation for a new one. Cuffed Heat. 10/08 - Title change! I checked out my latest title all over the net and on TV. Hot Pursuit has been used lots. New title of my novella...The Negotiator. I'm on the last round of edits. I'm so into this story and its characters. You might see some glitches every so often on my website. I'm updating/changing parts of it. Very time-consuming project for frugal novices.
